Looking for things to entertain children – and yourselves – in Southport? We’ve created trails and activity sheets to inspire you to investigate the buildings and heritage in central Southport.

Download our first family trail – a History Hunt starting from The Atkinson and exploring the centre of Southport. It’s designed to be printed at A3, or as two A4 sheets – if you need extra space for your creative answers, the reverse is blank. See note about the Town Hall stop below!

Please note that on the History Hunt trail, the answer to the Town Hall question has temporarily disappeared. And the blue plaque to someone else who worked there, which we posted as an alternative, is currently behind the scaffolding?

Or take one of our History Detectives activity sheets with you when you’re out and about in Southport and see if you can spot the quirky details on the buildings and streets around you. There’s one for Lord Street linked to our past Built on Sand exhibition. Who knew there were so many intriguing things to spot on a short walk from Scarisbrick Avenue to Nevill Street – all on that side of the road.
